Info:

The Audemars Piguet 5402SA The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak was originally designed by Gerald Genta who also designed the Patek Philippe Nautilus – amongst many other watch cases. The Royal Oak 5402 was first launched in Basel in 1972 and once the market had got over its radical design it became an iconic model – much the same as the Patek Nautilus. At 3300 Swiss Francs it was about 10 times more expensive than a Rolex Submariner. The present watch is a rare opportunity for Royal Oak collectors to obtain an example of this much-coveted steel & gold version of the reference 5402. Originally designed and produced only in steel, Audemars Piguet decided to launch a limited number of their then already landmark Royal Oak watch 5402 in steel & gold. It is believed that only 900 steel & gold 5402SA were ever produced.
